The Lady RedHawks of GJHS Track came out strong against the Northwood Panthers Thursday night. The 8th grade girls took the win with a score of 64 -35. The girls swept 3 events taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the 800-meter run, 1600-meter run, and the 100-meter low hurdles.

While the 7th graders did not win their competition, they showed great improvement from their first meet with many girls achieving new personal best times.

7th grade scorers: Kara Gwaltney, 1st place in the 100-meter hurdles, Aleia Ellison, 2nd place in the 100-meter hurdles and 3rd place in the 200-meter dash, Destiny Sanchez, 1st place in the 100-meter dash and 1st place in the high jump, Sira Green, 2nd place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and Greidys Cruz, 3rd in the 400-meter run.  The 4X100-meter relay team of Aleia Ellison, Destiny Sanchez, Kara Gwaltney, and Cecylia Gomez-Wengerd also took first place for the 7th grade girls.

8th grade scorers: Aubrie Collins, 1st place in the shot put and the discus, Jiana Camacho, 1st place in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Sydney McLaughlin, 1st place in the 800-meter run, Emilia Martin, 2nd place in the 800-meter run and 1st place in the 1600-meter run, Penelope Jimenez, 1st place in the 400-meter dash and 3rd place in the 100-meter hurdles, Steffi Diaz, 3rd place in the 400-meter run, Magdalena Miller, 2nd place in the high jump and 1600-meter run and 3rd place in the 800-meter run, Neja Kamalakanth, 3 place in the 1600-meter run, Claire Schrock, 2nd in the 100-meter hurdles, Emali Diaz, 2nd in the long jump, and Tian Ci Wang, 1st place in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4X400-meter relay team of Sydney McLaughlin, Neja Kamalakanth, Norah Osborne, and Tian Ci Wang also took 1st place for the 8th grade girls.
