The Maple City Cultural Festival will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 pm. on June 25 at Rogers Park in Goshen. The event aims to celebrate the diverse background of Goshen residents.
Attendees will have the chance to try food from countries such as El Salvador, Yoruba, Mexico, Kenya, Puerto Rico, Russia, Venezuela, Ukraine and the West Bank.
There will also be musical and dance performances by Nicole Williams, Nayo Ulloa, Sofia Ivanova, Lalo Cura, Go Dance Studios and Esclavitud Norteña.
“This will be a family-friendly event for people of all ages and backgrounds,” said Deb Jones, organizer for the event.
Organizers for the event are a group of Goshen residents who attended the NeighborWorks America Community Leadership Institute. The group is sponsored by LaCasa. “Neighborhood residents always come back from these events energized and inspired to do something in the community that makes a positive difference,” said José Elizalde, LaCasa community engagement specialist.
